For this project we were asked by one of our repeat customers to provide steelworks for a new build in Wimbledon. The steels were provided to assist in the new build of the house structure.
We provided multiple layers of steel. From the ground floor steels, areas around the stairways and then onto large roof area.
In the roof area alone, we used 6.8 tonnes of cranked steel beams to form the hips of the roof area.
All steel for this job was covered in Zinc Phosphate primer, which is an active corrosion protection for longevity of the steel.
From the customer contacting us back in January to finishing our part of the job last month, the total time we have spent on this job has been only 6 months!
Our in-house draughtsman spent time creating a 3D model so the customer could fully visualise what the end project would look like from the start.
The 3D drawing was used to generate a full fabrication package in structures which our fabricators could use in our Powerfab system in the workshop, so they knew exactly which steel was to be used for the job, where to cut and which items were to be covered in the primer. The fabricators checked each weld to ensure they complied with all the UKCA requirements for an execution class 2 job.
Once each area of the steel had been fabricated, we then sent our team of erectors to site, who did the install for us.
