The Project
These basement access stairs were an interesting project to work on.
To gain access to the basement/plantroom area, our customer required a robust yet removable access staircase, to accommodate the steep pitch. Whilst still providing adequate tread depth for safety. For this part of the job, we created stepped treads to give better foothold for anyone ascending or descending. Although covered in plywood for temporary protection, these treads were then powder coated grey and the removable handrails were powder coated in bold blue.
The overhead crane in our workshop allows our fabricators to lift the staircase to mimic its final position on site. This is a huge benefit as we get a true test of how it will perform and any adaptations can be made at this stage enabling a seamless installation on site.
Powder coating is a great surface finish option we offer as it adds both longevity to the product and provides a high quality finish.
